How to use EPUB to Text
- Choose one DRM-free EPUB file up to 20 MiB.
- Extract the readable XHTML chapter text in the book's EPUB spine order.
- Review and download the TXT file; images, styling, scripts, and page layout are not included.
What this tool does
Images and complex layout are not preserved; protected EPUBs are rejected.
Example
A DRM-free EPUB whose spine lists Introduction before Chapter 1 exports those chapters in that reading order, regardless of the order of files inside its ZIP container.
Frequently asked questions
Can this open books protected with DRM?
No. It does not bypass DRM, encrypted resources, or obfuscated fonts; use an unprotected EPUB you are authorized to process.
Will the TXT file keep images and page formatting?
No. The export extracts text from supported UTF-8 XHTML. Images, CSS, scripts, and layout are left out.
Privacy
Your input is processed in your browser. This version does not send document content to a conversion server and includes no advertising or analytics scripts. Loading the website requires a network connection.
